Ever seen those chunky blue Bikeshare bikes around the CBD and wondered what they are like to ride and who actually rides them? Now is your chance to find out! We will go to the city with just our helmets and see the sights in 30-minute timeslots. Should only cost $2.50 for the bike for the day (with a bit of luck). This is not a serious ride by any means, so come along intending to have fun and take it as it comes. Could get very interesting when we come to dock our bikes if we have a lot of riders :-). Bookings are essential as we need to know how many are coming to plan the route. Unfortunately due to restrictions on the number of bikes which can be hired and docked in close proximity to each other we have had to put a limit of 12 riders on Blue Bikes. Signups will automatically close at 12. You are still welcome to come along for the ride, but will need to bring your own bike (and lock).
Meet at the MYKI info booth at Southern Cross Station (SCS) at 10:00. To arrive at that time either be at Craigieburn station in time to catch the 09:06 or catch the 08:17 Seymour Vline as it passes through your town. Don’t forget your helmet and gloves.
Once we all have our bikes we will be riding to Carlton for a coffee at Threshermans. The route beyond that will be a casual visit to some of the other sights around the CBD where we will dock our bikes and have a walk around for a while so bring your backpacks to carry any purchases.
