Note: This ride starts at the Wallan East Railway Station carpark
Did that say “WALK!!“?
Eadaoin’s Flying Tarts ride has become another Metro COVID casualty, so instead she will lead us on a short ride to investigate the Wallan end the proposed route of a future trail to connect Wallan with Kilmore. Ultimately this trail will become part of the much longer Wallan to Heathcote leg of a trail all the way through to Bendigo. Starting at Wallan Station we will ride the proposed route into Hidden Valley where we will dismount (and lock our bikes) at the connection point to the old railway easement off Knight Way then walk the alignment up to Arkells Lane and maybe beyond.
After our walk we will ride back to the Open House Cafe for coffee before returning to our cars at the Station
A plot of the ride and walk may be viewed at https://ridewithgps.com/routes/37184526
Apart from short sections of gravel on bike paths this ride is all bitumen, however the terrain is more suited to MTB or Hybrid bicycles
Meet in the south end of the Wallan East Railway Station carpark for an 0900 start.
