The Mitchell Bicycle Users Group held their 6th Annual General Meeting on Sunday, where they re-elected Greg Jones for his 7th term as President. John Pyle was again chosen as Secretary, while Julie Lyons-Vague accepted the roles of Vice-President and Publicity Office. In a welcome return to the Club, Jan Saynor took on the role of Treasurer.
A highlight of the meeting was the visit by Cycling Victoria (CV) General Manager, Kipp Kaufmann, who welcomed MBUG as a newly affiliated Club. He introduced the Club members to CV and then spent some time outlining the role of Cycling Victoria as the peak body for cycling in the state. He then detailed the changes CV are making to better support recreational cyclists, not just in Victoria but Australia-wide.
Welcoming Mr Kaufmann to the meeting, MBUG President, Greg Jones, highlighted the benefits of being affiliated with Cycling Victoria, including cycling insurance for members and priority access to the many recreational events held throughout Victoria each year.
