The annual Around the Bay in a Day is on this year on October 16 and MBUG now has 9 members in its team.

If you wish to enter and be part of the MBUG team please go to http://www.atb2011.com.au/atb/team/wkx495. When you register you will be automatically added to our team. Don’t worry, being part of our team doesn’t mean you have to join a peleton. It simply means you are riding as part of MBUG.

With only 15 weeks to go, it is now time to start training for this event, particularly if you are planning on doing one of the longer rides.

Training

We have now added some suggested training plans to the website. Feel free to download a plan and modify it to suit your own training requirements.

Fundraising

Beyond the thrill of the ride, this event is about raising money to help The Smith Family, a children’s charity dedicated to helping disadvantaged Australian children to get the most out of their education, so they can create better futures for themselves.

Right now one in seven Australian children are living in disadvantage. As research has shown, supporting a child’s education is one of the most effective ways of breaking the cycle of disadvantage and ensuring they can access the same learning opportunities as their peers.

In the last year The Smith Family reached more than 126,000 disadvantaged children and families across Australia, with your support this number can only increase.

Please DONATE by going to the team page at http://aroundthebayfundraising.com.au/?Mitchell+Bicycle+Users+Group.Your donation will help The Smith Family raise $1,200,000 to help disadvantaged Australian children create better futures for themselves.
