Today Richard will lead you on a great route we have not ridden for a few years.
Your ride will start at the Tooborac Community hall and recreation reserve where toilets and parking are available. From here you will ride towards Lancefield on the C325 and turn off at the Emu Flat Rd. You will climb a little further before enjoying a lovely long downhill section on a good quality granitic sand road. Don’t forget to look up and stop occasionally to take in the beautiful views across the granite country. You will turn right when you meet Dairy Flat Rd and then stay on the Baynton Rd all the way back until you meet the C325 again. A left turn and soon you will be enjoying a coffee back at the Tooborac Hotel.
You may view a track file and profile of this lovely route at https://ridewithgps.com/routes/12028042
Meet at the Tooborac Recreation Reserve for an 0930 start. A list of MBUG ride meeting places is available on Google at http://g.co/maps/d4txy
This 30km route has about one-third with a gravel surface. In the past has been in good order and smooth to ride on and was suitable for road bikes on those occasions, however if you are unsure it might be best to bring your MTB or Hybrid – to be sure, to be sure 😉
