This ride has been brought forward from 13/11. See explanation in this week’s newsletter.
This week we will return to Yea for a lovely ride along quiet country roads and the Great Victorian Rail Trail. The route will take us past the contentious “Plug the Pipe” site on the Goulburn River and after crossing the GV Highway we will join the Great Victorian Rail Trail along Native Dog Rd. and ride up to and through the iconic Cheviot Tunnel, pausing here for the obligatory photographs of course. Then it is time to play “who can coast the farthest” as we head downhill to Yea for coffee.
It has been a while since we last visited Yea and the coffee landscape may have changed, so come primed with suggestions of where the best brew is sold these days.
Much of this ride is on gravel, so MTB or hybrid is recommended

Meet opposite the Yea Post Office on the Melba Hwy for an 0930 start.
