North Melbourne Station
Adderley St, North Melbourne, Victoria

We had a lot of fun when we did something similar to this ride a couple of years back, so it is back on the calendar again.  We will go to the city with just our helmets and see the sights in 30-minute timeslots.  It should only cost $2.70 for the bike for the day (with a bit of luck).  This is not a serious ride by any means, so come along intending to have fun and take it as it comes.  Could get very interesting when we come to dock our bikes if we have a lot of riders :-).  Bookings are essential as we need to know how many are coming to plan the route.  Unfortunately due to restrictions on the number of bikes which can be hired and docked in close proximity to each other we have had to put a limit of 12 riders on Blue Bikes.  Bookings will automatically close at 12.  You are still welcome to come along for the ride, but will need to bring your own bike (and lock).

To save sitting on the train for an extra 20 minutes while it travels around the loop to SCS, we will meet outside North Melbourne station near the Bikeshare bike rack at 10:00. To arrive at that time either be at Craigieburn station in time to catch the 09:26 or else catch the 08:20 Seymour Vline as it passes through your town and take it all the way to Southern Cross (it doesn’t stop at North Melbourne) and then jump any Metro train on Platform 11 back to North Melbourne (the first stop).  Double-check these times for yourself closer to the event.
Call John on 0428 793 766 if you get lost or you are running late.
Don’t forget your helmet, gloves and MYKI card.
Once we all have our bikes we will be riding to Carlton for a coffee at Threshermans.  The route beyond that will be a cruise to some of the other sights around the CBD fringe, a bit of culture and shopping so bring your backpacks to carry any purchases.  If things go to plan, we will have lunch somewhere in Port Melbourne, if not, there are plenty of places to eat in Melbourne.

All who intend going on this event should familiarise themselves with the hire arrangements as described on the Melbourne Bikeshare website at http://www.melbournebikeshare.com.au/RAC1323_BikeSharePDF_HowTo_A4_Portrait-6.pdf
Please read the Terms and Conditions available via the link (in very small print) at the bottom left of each Melbourne Bikeshare web page.
Hire can only be paid for using a credit card with a minimum of $300 credit remaining (see the T’s & C’s) and they will hold a $50 bond until you return the bike.
