Seasons Greetings everyone, we hope you have enjoyed your Christmas break so far. Although we thought that the newsletters were all done for 2021, we needed to slip this final one in just before the end of the year to give you notice of a second working bee on the shared trail running from Hidden Valley to Arkells Lane in Wallan. The Wallan Environment Group (WEG) and the Friends of the Bendigo Kilmore Rail Trail (FBKRT) wish to keep the momentum going following our successful first working bee on November 21 and have organised another on January 9.
MBUG members and supporters are invited to come along and assist for only two hours as the weather is likely to be hotter. Similar to last time, MBUG will be focussed on tidying up the actual trail surface and the work will involve tasks such as stick/ hazard removal, weed control, rubbish removal and other tasks yet to be identified
MBUG volunteers should meet the WEG group at the proposed trailhead in Knight Way for an 0900 start. Please bring along handtools such as secateurs, sturdy metal rakes or shovels for your personal use. Don’t forget to bring a water bottle, wear sturdy footwear and bring PPE such as gloves and eye protection.
Water will be provided for you to refill your drink bottles, however bring along your own food and snacks if required (sorry – the COVID and Food Handling regulations made this just too difficult to organise this time)
The COVID rules strongly recommend that all attendees be fully vaccinated. No matter what your vaccination status, on arrival everyone will need to QR code in using the code provided by WEG and sign their Registration sheet.
Please come along and help – “Many hands make light work”
