Today’s ride from Craigieburn to Southern Cross Station (SCS) will be largely along a route not previously ridden by MBUG. Rather than going straight into town via the Moonee Ponds Creek or Merri Creek paths, we will head further west into Airport West to pick up a couple of local paths including the Steele Creek Trail which will direct us to the Maribyrnong Trail. We follow the Maribyrnong Trail and the Footscray Rd path into Docklands and SCS where we will catch the “silver limo” back to Craigieburn (after refreshments of course!).
While the route as described is 43km long, don’t let this discourage you from coming – the riding is mostly downhill (see ride profile here) and we will have an optional stop for a coffee and a spell at about the half-way point or else we can continue and finish at Kensington for lunch.
Don’t forget to bring your Myki for the trip home.
