Rather than a Sunday ride, this week our club ride will be the Light the Rail event starting in Axedale on the evening of Saturday April 29. This event is a charity ride to support the Heathcote Dementia Alliance, a largely volunteer group providing support for dementia sufferers in and around the Heathcote area. See https://www.theokeefe.com.au/about-the-heathcote-dementia-alliance/ for more information about the charity cause
While you are free choose whether you ride to Bendigo or Axedale, the MBUG event will ride to Heathcote. For details about the actual ride including route maps, a registration link and the check-in, briefing, start and finish cut-off times may be found at https://www.theokeefe.com.au/light-the-trail-social-friday-night-ride/
The ride will cost you $30 if you pay beforehand, but if you leave it until the night it is $40. It is a bit pricey but it will be a fun night and the money goes to a good cause. You are encouraged to pimp your bike with lots of lights and there will be a prize for the best lit bike.
Meet in the rear carpark of the Axedale Public Hall to check in at 1645. MBUG ride start point locations may be viewed at https://bit.ly/3P0ER5g
Once you have registered and paid for the ride, please ensure you register on the MBUG site so we know who to expect at Axedale so we can ride the route together.
