Over the past few years a number of MBUG members have expressed an interest in riding this worthwhile event, however COVID came along and messed things up a bit, first by forcing it’s cancellation in 2019, then by the time it ran again in 2021 not too many of us were keen to mix with crowds. COVID is still around, but now most readers are up to date with their vaccinations and on this basis we are inviting all readers to come along on the 2022 Cycle Dindi event.
You may choose any start point and distance option which suits your circumstances, but this particular MBUG event will be starting in Yea at the old Railway Station and riding to Cathkin for lunch via the Cheviot Tunnel and Nutfield (a working sheep farm where we will enjoy a Devonshire tea).
Note that this is not a free event – there is a registration fee which is the responsibility of each rider to pay before attending. This is your donation to the cause.
There are a couple of ways you can register and pay:
1. Turn up at the Yea Station on the day between 0800 and 0900 or (preferably)
2. Pay beforehand using Paypal or credit card on the event’s Trybooking page at https://www.trybooking.com/BVQGK then pick up your confirmation token at Yea Station before you ride.
The route is mainly on the granitic sand surface of the Great Victorian Rail Trail so a hybrid or MTB would be best suited to these conditions.
MBUG riders should meet at the Yea Railway Station at 12 Station St, Yea for an 0900 start. We will commence the ride after everyone has paid and registered at the start point. Please register if you intend coming along so we know who to expect at the start point in Yea.
If you need clarification, contact John by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or call Julie Lynch of Yea Rotary on 0447762557
